After the birth of Gabriel, Heath tries his best to be the best father and husband. He would woke up in the middle of the night changing his son’s stinky diaper voluntary because he love his son perhaps more than his wife.

It was his fatherly responsibility that had makes him worked harder in order to provide a better environment for his son to grow up in. Furthermore, there are more competitions in his line of Interior Design after his company Aloha Edge Interior hired more young designers with degrees. He was older and without those qualifications, he had to work harder to climb up.

Janice on the other hand was adamant to lose the weight she gained after giving birth to her son. When her husband was at work and her son is sleeping soundly, rope skipping, sit-ups and slaving away on the exercise bike was her obsession. She even changed to breast feeding her son to Heath’s delight when she heard it helped slimming down faster. Of course, Heath never knows the real reason behind her change to breast feeding.

Heath was offered a post at Aloha College when the Head of Interior and Architecture Design Department liked how Heath had transformed his gaudy and old fashioned mansion into a modern and trendy home. His new job gave Heath a sense of pride and even motivated him to work harder to the dismay of his wife. He was constantly online keeping up with new design ideas, often skipped dinner and go to bed later than his wife. Janice, not knowing how stressful his husband was always goes to bed wondering whether Heath was getting tired of her or he was having an affair outside.

‘I’m worried Crystal, he was always not at home and when he was at home he was at the computer all the time. He doesn’t let me go near to the computer as well!,’ Janice whined to Crystal on the phone.

‘Sheesh Jan, you are really overreacting you know. He is a college professor now, he got to prepare for his class, college kids can be rather hard to handle. They are like constantly asking questions and challenge your ideas,’ Crystal explained, she had heard from one of her acquaintance about the challenge of working in a college.

‘I don’t know, I felt like I don’t know him as well as I should. It’s like there are something from his past that he was hiding from me. Plus we hadn’t slept together for like two months!’ Janice continued to whine.

Crystal froze a little when she heard the part about Heath’s past, ‘That was too much information dear, I’m getting leg cramps, gotta go. Just stop being goddamn paranoid’.

Finally it was time for Gabriel becoming a toddler; Heath did not come home in time to celebrate with him. Janice was upset but Gabriel still loves his father the best. Especially for the toy Mr. Rabbit he bought for his birthday. Janice had wanted to cut his hair short but Heath said ‘He look cute with that hair, leave that alone’.

‘He was spoiling that kid rotten,’ Janice had thought but decided to follow his advice.

Although he was busy almost all the time, Heath make sure he help Gabriel to practice walking every night after work while his wife help with teaching the proper pronunciations and speech to their young son. She even read him stories to get his imagination working. He was learning well except for the potty training which brings headache to Janice as Gabriel still thought the potty was a chair to sit on.

Heath might be busy all the time but he knew of his wife suspicion and doubts about him. One of it was his past. One of the reasons he had been cold to Janice was the nagging thoughts of Crystal. He had missed her company as a friend. And he was sure that if he and Crystal continue avoiding each other, Janice with her paranoia might sense it and discovered their history. Yes, it was history but he had no intention of letting Janice know. He invited Crystal over one day after finally gathered up the courage. He was glad to see Crystal was healthy and well after giving birth to the twins. They were polite with each other and even awkward at first but when Janice leaves them alone for dinner to go jogging the silence broke.

‘Glad that you are safe and well after delivering. You look great,’ Heath started breaking the ice.

‘Thanks, I heard you are doing well with you job,’ Crystal replied feeling the tension eased.

‘About job, I heard you are working in an art gallery in Aloha right? Which gallery?’ Heath asked between bites.

‘Flora Art, the one which specialized in paintings of flowers,’ Crystal’s face lit up and beginning to talk nonstop about various topic with Heath.

That night saw the renewal of friendship between Crystal and Heath and the blossoms of a new friendship between Gabriel and his new friend, Aunt Crystal.
