She joined me for tea and we ate silently. There was an uncomfortable silence between us, you know like some dark cloud hanging above? I was busy thinking what I had done wrong when she hugged me. ‘I’m pregnant with our first child’ she said. I was stunned but thrilled, me a father? I kissed her. It turns out our activities after the wedding in the hot tub produced a fruit. I was so happy but I sensed she wasn’t as happy as I am. I wonder why? But I shrugged the feeling away and reminded her to rest well and stop reading so much and tire herself up. She nodded but I knew she wasn’t listening.

I spoke to Erica about Tara’s pregnancy and her weird reaction to it. But Erica sounded unhappy about the news and changed the topic from baby to oil production and pollution! What is wrong with these women?

I was watching TV when I heard she moaned aloud and screamed. I knew it was not the labor pain. I rushed in; she was in pain and clutching her stomach, reddish stains on her pants. Our baby is gone forever. I called for a doctor from Aloha Island, he arrived after 15 minutes and gone after 30 minutes. I asked how the pregnancy suddenly ended; he told me a pregnant lady should get plenty of rest and eat well. The images of Tara studying all night, jumping here and there and barely touched the meals I prepared for her flashed through my mind….

Life went on as usual after the lost of our baby, Tara recovered pretty fast and she seems not affected by it and she even found a job as Test Subject for the Aloha University’s Science Department. I woke up early everyday to prepare breakfast for her to eat before her car pool arrive and she always make a gagging face whenever she saw Max Carlson the driver. I don’t know what his face do to deserve that.

My daily routine after she left for work consisted of fishing, cleaning the house, giving financial advice online (I earn $75 for each published advice I gave) and lately rereading newspaper at night while waiting for Tara to come home from work. She was promoted recently and she always worked until late at night.

Heath Starr dropped by a lot to use the computer, apparently, he can’t afford one. I never minded his presence in the house in fact he kept me company. He kept my brain from decaying from lack of use by always debating stuff about music and nature with me. But I know aside from using the computer there are another reasons he hang around my house. I suspect he was feeling lonely although I heard some rumors that he was getting friendly with a lady whose name I shall not mention now( potential spoiler) . I don’t care who he seduced but as long as not my wife. I ought to have a word with him about the way he stared at my wife sometimes.
